14 y/o s/p Martial Arts injury. Noticed a growth on X-ray

Ticks and fleas. The osteochondroma is pretty easy to see. Also ligamentum mucosum/infrapatellar plica edema (sprain vs frictional inflammation) and something in the prefemoral fat.

How would you describe the hoffa's and pre femoral findings?

What do you recommend as far as the osteochondroma for follow up (if anything?)

  1. Is the osteochondroma pointing anteriorly and causing maltracking?

  2. Great questions Phil ;-) I've also encountered these findings many times and was mostly at a loss as to how (or if) to describe them. In this case here, I would hazard a guess that the prefemoral fat pad edema could be symptomatic, while prominence of the lig. mucosum is so frequently seen that it may well be harmless. But that's just my guess.

So.... how did you report this?
