Femoral head lesion

F 62, left hip pain. Suspected impingement.

There's a subchondral / subcortical bone lesion at the anterior aspect of the left femoral head with cystic and fatty components, possibly also some calcification.
To me it doesn't look like a typical impingement lesion / herniation pit.
More like cystic degeneration of an intraosseous lipoma, or an LSMFT.

She also has chondropathy with subchondral cysts and mild trochanter bursitis (not shown).

What is your impression?

Thanks,

Andrei

P.S.
I wanted to add a comment to my own post but it seems that's not possible.
As far as I can tell, one can only insert images or videos, no way to attach a powerpoint, pdf etc. If that's correct it would in my opinion be a severe limitation.

  1. It takes jpeg, gif or pdf. If you make ppt, it’s simple to “save as” jpeg, one click. Try it. Then just drag and drop. I’m sure you can do that. Making the ppt is all the effort.

  2. Yes, you cannot annotate images in blogger. If you post via email you can type in what you want. Or you can embed text in your ppt then save as jpeg. Requires a little adjustment. Nothing is perfect—-but the admin portal for xrayhead is almost unusable....which is why almost all of the archived cases were from me and Phil—-which is a pity.

  3. Enchondroma.

Another limitation I see is if you want to reply to the person posting, only personally, or you want to send similar cases, references etc. I don't see a simple option yet to do that?

  4. Andrei, you can comment on your own post, I tried on one of my previous posts.

Are the people who had previously commented automatically notified about new comments?
